This was the cover for Elementals issue 11 (original run). It was a wraparound cover, so Fathom’s legs were initially on the back cover. It was drawn and inked really big, by Bill, for no particular reason he can recall. Maybe he was just too lazy that day to cut down the piece of illustration board he had on hand? It’s on heavy art board, has slight markings from production paste-up stuff, once it fell into their uncaring hands. It’s the last Elementals cover Bill still owns – or actually, owns again, after it sold once from him, and then changed hands many times among various art collectors and investors. How it got back into Bill’s hands after so many years is a story he’d love to tell, but can’t. 21" x 25 3/4" on Illustration Board.
