Once long ago Bill teamed with three other writers (who’ve each since become writers of note) to cooperate in an online prose shared universe called Clockwork Storybook. During this time Bill wrote a story called Mythology, in which a middleman negotiates a tricky deal between the monster Fenris Wolf and the Norse pantheon of gods. The second and third illustration for that story, penciled and inked by Bill, are combined here on one page. The first of these depicts the severed, eaten, and later regurgitated hand of the Norse war god Tyr writing a nasty note. The second is a portrait of Fenris Wolf. Do note that there is some (easy to trim away) chewing damage on the page, which doesn’t affect the art. It seems that while the page was in the hand of the fellow responsible for scanning it for publication (I’m looking at you, Chris Roberson), that fellow’s less-than-civilized cat had himself a bit of a snack. On 11" x 17" bristol board.
